Lecturer, syndicated columnist to more than 50 newspapers around the country, television commentator, debater, marketer, businessman, author, publisher and activist, L. Brent Bozell III is one of the most outspoken and effective national leaders in the conservative movement today.

Founder and President of the Media Research Center, Mr. Bozell runs the largest media watchdog organization in America. Since its launch in 1987, the MRC has developed the largest video archive in the world; the popular NewsBusters.org blog site; the CNSNews.com internet news service; the Business and Media Institute; and the Culture and Media Institute. The MRC has over 500,000 members nationwide.

In 2010, Mr. Bozell founded ForAmerica, an organization committed to restoring America to its founding principles. In less than a year ForAmerica has grown to over 1.5 million Facebook followers. In 1998, Mr. Bozell founded and was the first president of the Parents Television Council, the largest group in America dedicated to a restoring responsibility to Hollywood. Before founding the MRC, Mr. Bozell was the finance director and later the president of the National Political Action Committee.

Mr. Bozell's bi-weekly column is syndicated by Creators Syndicate to over 50 media outlets nationwide. His writings have also appeared in numerous other outlets including the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, the National Review and USA Today. He is the author of three books, including And That’s the Way It Is(n’t) (with Brent Baker), Weapons of Mass Distortion, and Whitewash (with Tim Graham).

He has been a guest on numerous television programs, including the O'Reilly Factor, Nightline, The Larry King Live and the Glenn Beck Show. He appears weekly on the "Media Mash" segment of Hannity, on the Fox News Channel.

Variety is a Hollywood trade publication, but it can be hard to figure out where the entertainment industry ends and the industry’s journalistic apple-polishers begin. Exhibit A is a commentary by Brian Lowry trying to compare the news media’s current hate objects – the Tea Party tax protesters – with the entertainment media’s hate objects, the activists opposing Hollywood-distributed vulgarity.

Our secular liberal media elites are never more poisonously insincere than when they recommend that conservatives should move closer to liberals, for their own good.   Witnessing the relentless media attacks on the Catholic Church, no member of the flock should assume that the agitators at Newsweek or the New York Times know best how to steer the faithful – or even believe they want to help the faithful.

Many – too many – red-blooded American boys grow up on Japanese video-game systems from Sony and Nintendo. Their cultural interests can extend into Japanese cartoons (“anime”) and some even discover Japanese pornographic cartoons (“hentai”).   How so? Boys play games and watch cartoons like the “DragonBall Z” series, but can quickly surf the Web and find related cartoon titles like “Dragonball X,” only to learn they are hard-corn porn.

When Republicans shocked the liberal media elite by winning back Congress in 1994, they had been demonized for months. But it took the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995 for Bill Clinton and all of his “objective” media devotees to really pull the violence card and smear that mass murder all over Newt Gingrich and conservative Republicans, blaming it on their “anti-government” rhetoric.

It seems like it’s been quite some time since our National Endowment for the Arts has shocked the public with an outrageous grant for a ridiculous “artist” whose art flourishes only when the taxpayer is forced against his will to subsidize it. Sadly, that means these “artists” must take their talents elsewhere in search of public funding.

During the Bush years, the news media were the promoters of protest, the champions of dissent. Denouncing the president as a brain-damaged warmonger was the most patriotic thing you could do (just ask the Dixie Chicks), and it was guaranteed to please the press.

For almost a decade, American news readers have been presented with a litany of complaints from Old Europe about how the barbaric United States has surrendered its moral authority by introducing terror into the minds of suspected terrorists during interrogations. Even sleep deprivation and the playing of loud pop music have caused conniptions with these tender folk.

Howell Raines lost his executive editor’s job at The New York Times for promoting the career of Jayson Blair, a black drug addict and fantasist who invented entire stories describing the hills of West Virginia from a saloon down the street in New York. But somehow Raines still imagines himself a media bigfoot who can pronounce on the State of Journalism, a one-man Pulitzer Prize panel.

NBC’s “Law & Order” programs are long-established and all over the schedule. But the sex-obsessed vice cops of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” are a breed apart. They exist to be socially provocative, which is to say, to rattle, to disturb.   Viewers at home probably weren’t ready for the plot that aired on NBC on March 3. These script writers are so revolting that they become almost comical.

If anyone was looking for a self-righteous extreme feminist, they found one in Angie Jackson. This is a woman who was so proud she was aborting her baby that she announced she would “tweet” her chemical-cocktail abortion live, as it happened, on Twitter. The liberal media found this made-for-TV slaughter fascinating, and not at all a controversy worthy of discussing with two sides.

It’s quite striking to see the degree to which traditional Islam has come under ferocious attack from the anti-religious impulse in Hollywood and New York and other bohemian centers in America. It is clearly anti-Islamic religious bigotry. Take a look at just some examples over the last year alone.

When Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana announced last week he wasn’t running for re-election, he didn’t state what may have seemed obvious. He couldn’t say he wanted to avoid the embarrassment of losing, or that he worried he’d never achieve national office if that happened.   Instead, he launched into a lecture about what was wrong with everyone else. The government is “dysfunctional” with “brain-dead partisanship.” It’s “Groundhog Day.” This scenario repeats itself every time the Democrats take control.

Two years ago, Time magazine critic Richard Corliss wrote an article that clearly must have resonated at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Oscar telecast was sinking in the ratings, he wrote, because the nominees were largely unwatched by the masses. It used to be that the Best Picture prize went to mainstream box-office hits. “Now when the nominations come out, people try to catch up with the finalists, but it’s almost like homework.”

The Super Bowl is a cultural phenomenon. It’s not only watched by godzillions of people worldwide, it’s the only televised broadcast  where the audience tunes in not just for the game, but for the commercials. The top-dollar, high-profile advertising space has led to some unforgettable commercials over the years.   Sometimes the ad is so remarkable it becomes a word-of-mouth sensation before it even airs, before anyone has even seen it. It’s happened again this year.

The declining (or is it dying?) newspaper industry has suffered another blow to its image as punctilious skeptic. So much for the motto, “If your mother says she loves you, check it out.” It turns out a pile of American newspapers can’t manage to check out the most basic information about people who are flat-out using their pages to push political agendas.

When the cable network VH1 planned a news special called “The New Virginity,” an abstinence backer might have felt optimistic that teenagers and young adults were going to get a refreshing jolt of publicity about the option of premarital celibacy. That is, unless you looked at the network’s promotional fine print.
