(CNSNews.com) - In response to hyper-speculation about the nature of a recently disclosed whistleblower complaint, President Trump had the following response on Friday morning:
"The Radical Left Democrats and their Fake News Media partners, headed up again by Little Adam Schiff, and batting Zero for 21 against me, are at it again! They think I may have had a 'dicey' conversation with a certain foreign leader based on a 'highly partisan' whistleblowers statement." Trump tweeted.
"Strange that with so many other people hearing or knowing of the perfectly fine and respectful conversation, that they would not have also come forward. Do you know the reason why they did not? Because there was nothing said wrong, it was pitch perfect!"
No one, including House intelligence chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), knows the specifics of the whistleblower complaint that the director of national intelligence has so far refused to send over to Congress.
But press reports on Friday said the complaint involves a conversation between President Trump and the new president of Ukraine.
After Rudy Giuliani went on several cable TV shows Thursday night, railing against alleged "corruption" by Joe Biden and his son Hunter, who had business dealings in Ukraine, this is how liberals framed the argument on Friday morning: They're suggesting that President Trump threatened to withhold aid to Ukraine if that country's president didn't investigate the alleged Biden "corruption."
For example, CNN's Alisyn Camerota posed this question Friday morning: "So did President Trump threaten to withhold billions in aid from Ukraine for political gain?"
Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, speaking hypothetically, told CNN on Friday morning: “[I]t is unprecedented for an American president to contact a foreign government for the purpose of initiating an investigation of a political rival.”
And Rep. Jackie Speier, a Democrat on the House intelligence committee, told CNN Friday morning: "What we know is zero. So if in fact what is being reported is true, that means that the president of the United States is using taxpayer money to try and have opposition research for his 2020 campaign determined by how much money he gives to a foreign country."
Trump on Friday also took a swipe at New York Mayor Bill De Blasio, who dropped out of the 2020 Democrat presdential race on Friday:
"Oh no, really big political news, perhaps the biggest story in years! Part time Mayor of New York City, @BilldeBlasio, who was polling at a solid ZERO but had tremendous room for growth, has shocking dropped out of the Presidential race. NYC is devastated, he’s coming home!"
