(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), addressing the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Monday night, said if he is elected president, "I willl lead very, very differently from the current administration."

Cruz said he would rip up the Iran nuclear deal negotiated by the Obama administration "on day one." And, addressing Iran's supreme leader directly, Cruz said he would not tolerate any Iranian ballistic missile tests:

"Hear my words Ayatollah Khomeini, if I am president and Iran launches a missile test, we will shoot that missile down."

As CNSNews.com has reported, Iran's Revolutionary Guard test-launched two ballistic missiles earlier this month. Those missiles were emblazoned with the phrase "Israel must be wiped out" in Hebrew — a show of power by the Shiite nation, long an opponent of Israel.

Iran's foreign ministry insists that the missile tests do not violate Tehran's nuclear deal with world powers or a U.N. Security Council resolution, although the U.S. State Department says the tests are "inconsistent with" and "in defiance of" U.N. resolution 2231, which enshrined the nuclear deal.

On July 20 last year, the U.N. Security Council unanimously supported resolution 2231, whose weak language is now being cited by Iran in defending its right to carry out ballistic missile tests. There have been at least four since July.

U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power signed off on the resolution's weak language, including a clause that says Iran was “called upon" not to carry out specified missile activity, including launches.

Here's what Cruz said about the Iran nuclear deal in his speech to AIPAC:

"America will stand unapologetically with the nation of Israel.

"So what does that mean specifically? Let's start with...the nation of Iran. Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have said they would maintain this Iranian deal, although Donald has promised he is going to negotiate and get a better deal. Well, my view is very different. On the first day in office, I will rip this catastrophic Iranian nuclear deal to shreds.

"This agreement gives over $100 billion to the Ayatollah Khomeini, the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism. That dwarfs the $3 billion in military aid we give each year to the nation of Israel. That difference is not just unconscionable. It is fundamentally immoral. And if I am president, on the first day, we will re-impose sanctions on Iran.

"In a mockery of this Iranian nuclear deal, Iran has continued with missile tests including launching a missile with the words printed on it in both Hebrew and Farsi, 'Israel should be wipe from the earth.'

"Hear my words Ayatollah Khomeini: If I am president and Iran launch as a missile test, we will shoot that missile down.

"And in January 2017, we will have a commander-in-chief who says under no circumstances will Iran be allow to acquire nuclear weapons, either you will shut down your nuclear program or we will shut it down for you."

Cruz also promised that on his first day in office, he will "begin the process" of moving the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. And he said if the Palestinians try to push through a United Nations resolution unilaterally declaring Palestinian statehood, "America will veto that resolution."

"Indeed, I will tell you today, I will fly to New York to personally veto it myself."
