(CNSNews.com) - Texas Gov. Rick Perry was and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney traded digs over Social Security during Thursday night’s FoxNews/Google GOP presidential candidate's debate.

A FoxNews moderator asked Perry to explain how Social Security could work if it was run by 50 states instead of the federal government, something that Romney has claimed Perry wants to do and a charge he used to hammer Perry.

Perry, who said that was not what he was proposing, snapped back at Romney: "Now, it's not the first time that Mitt has been wrong on some issues."

Romney insisted again that Perry’s book "Fed Up!" says that Social Security is unconstitutional and should be returned to the states.

"So you better find that Rick Perry and get him to stop saying that," Romney said.
