Sen. Scott: We'll 'Have To Fight Tooth and Nail To Protect Our Religious Liberties’

(CNSNews.com) – Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) said that protecting the religious liberty of Americans would require a “tooth and nail” fight against those who are undermining this most fundamental of rights.

“We have an opportunity to move this nation in the right direction,” Scott said on Friday at the Family Research Council’s 2016 Values Voter Summit. “And so as an elected official I see my responsibility, in part, in making sure that we do just that."

“And so, I can go into my office; I can craft legislation to make sure we protect our religious liberties,” Scott said. “How many of ya’ll know we are going to have to fight tooth and nail to protect our religious liberties?

“And fight we will,” Scott said. “And fight we will.”

Scott also said he felt it his responsibility as an elected official to fight for the sanctity of life, including crafting legislation to protect the unborn.
