(CNSNews.com) -- A Mexican national who had previously been deported after serving time for a child-sex crime was caught again by U.S. Border Patrol agents on Oct. 11 near Why, Arizona.

As the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency reported, "During processing, agents learned 41-year-old Jose Rivera-Fuentes was convicted of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor in 2014 in Bradenton, Florida, where he was sentenced to one year in jail for his crimes."

Rivera-Fuentes now faces charges of felony illegal reentry into the United States and, if convicted, could be sentenced up to 20 years in prison.
