(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Kamala Harris sent out a Tweet on Monday saying that she has a plan that would give the "average public school teacher" a $13,500 raise.

“Our teacher pay plan would give the average public school teacher a $13,500 raise,” Harris said. “In many places, that’s about a year’s worth of mortgage payments. Money for groceries. A significant dent in student loan debt.

“It’s time we invested in our teachers like they’ve invested in us,” Warren said.

On Tuesday, Warren again mentioned raising teachers’ pay in a Tweet.

“No one said this was going to be easy, but fighting for higher teacher pay, economic justice, and Medicare for All is worth it,” Warren said.
