Speaking with a reporter at the pro-Second Amendment rally in Richmond, Va., on Monday, Grayson county Sheriff Richard Vaughan said that if the radical gun-control measures being pushed by the liberal Democrats in the State Legislature are passed, they "will not be enforced" because they are "unconstitutional."
"If the bills go through as proposed, they will not be enforced. They're unconstitutional," said Sheriff Vaughan in response to a question, video of which was posted on Twitter by news producer Andrew Kimmel and retweeted by activist Michael Coudrey.
"We support to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the constitution of Virginia," said the sheriff. "That's what we'll do."
Thousands of Second Amendment supporters gathered outside the Virginia capital in Richmond on Monday to protest the gun-control measures being pushed by Democrats in the Legislature and by left-wing Gov. Ralph Northam (D).
"All Virginia gun owners must organize to stand and fight against Northam and [Michael] Bloomberg’s gun registration plan," said the NRA. "Virginia’s anti-gun legislators have made it clear that they intend to confiscate guns and any registration scheme would enable their unconstitutional plans."
The Daily Wire reported in November, “The grassroots resistance to Virginia Democrats’ extreme anti-Second Amendment agenda has exploded as nearly 90% of the counties in the state have declared themselves to be sanctuary cities in response to the Democrats’ anti-freedom agenda."
"More than 100 cities, towns, and counties have passed resolutions in preparation for Democrats taking over the state who had indicated a desire to confiscate semi-automatic firearms from law-abiding citizens," said The Daily Wire.
