The plan by the Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia, one of the largest school systems in the nation, to implement a "transgender" policy and teach middle school kids about "gender fluidity" -- that there is a sexuality spectrum -- is "wicked," it is "a lie," and clear evidence that "misguided educators" want to "brainwash our children," said Rev. Franklin Graham, an evangelical leader and son of world-renowned preacher Billy Graham.
"Can you believe these idiots? Gender fluidity?" said Rev. Graham in a May 16 Facebook post. "Here's an example of some of the wicked things misguided educators today want to expose our children to--look at this Fox News story."
"It should make your blood boil that they want to brainwash our children!" said Rev. Graham.
"Teaching them that there is no difference between boys and girls is nothing more than a lie," he said. "We are different because God made us different. School districts should not allow this poison anywhere near the classroom!"
As CNSNews.com reported on May 7, "The U.S. Department of Education is demanding that the Fairfax County Public Schools, in the Virginia suburbs just outside Washington, D.C., "revise their non-discrimination policies to include gender identity" or risk losing the federal funds they receive for their schools. The "nondiscrimination" would apply to transgender students and teachers.
Actions like this, which were largely done under the radar and without any significant notice to parents beforehand by the Fairfax County Public Schools, indicate the need for Bible-believing Christians to be involved in local politics," said the reverend.
"Christians upholding biblical principles on school boards could help put a stop to outrageous initiatives like this," he said. "Let's fight back by getting the names of Christians on the ballots and working to make a difference for the future of our nation."
In a story on recent developments, Fox News reported, "The plan calls for teaching seventh graders about transgenderism and tenth graders about the concept that sexuality is a broader spectrum."
“Students will be provided definitions for sexual orientation terms heterosexuality, homosexuality and bisexuality; and the gender identity term transgender,” the district’s recommendations state, as reported by Fox. “Emphasis will be placed on recognizing that everyone is experiencing changes and the role of respectful, inclusive language in promoting an environment free of bias and discrimination.”
In addition, the document states, "Emphasis will be placed on an understanding that there is a broader, boundless, and fluid spectrum of sexuality that is developed throughout a lifetime. Sexual orientation and gender identity terms will be discussed with focus on appreciation for individual differences.”
In Matthew 19: 4-6, Jesus Christ is quoted, "And He answered and said to them, 'Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.'”
