Rev. Graham: ‘False Theology of Islam’ Compels ‘Radical Islamic Terrorists’ To Kill, Led By ‘The Devil Himself’

Islam is a “deluded, false theology” that “compels radical Islamic terrorists” to “wreak havoc and destruction,” and these jihadists are led by “the Devil himself,” said Rev. Franklin Graham, adding that Satan is marching them ultimately into the “lake of fire” where they will be punished for eternity with all those “who reject Christ.”

Rev. Graham further said that like the Apostle Paul, who tried to destroy Christ’s church but then repented, the “followers of Islam” can experience the same type of conversion and do not “have to die in a holy war or jihad to please God.”

“The deluded, false theology of Islam motivates and compels radical Islamic terrorists to murder, rape, pillage, plunder, and wreak havoc and destruction in the name of their god,” said Rev. Graham in his column for the April issue of Decision magazine, published by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA).

“Led on by the destroyer—the Devil himself—they blindly march on in their fateful journey to ultimate doom and destruction in the lake of fire where, along with the Devil and all who reject Christ, they will be eternally punished for their unbelief and rebellion,” he said.

The column, “What Franklin Graham Wants Followers of Islam to Know,” starts by explaining that the Islamic State believes that it is “waging warfare against unbelievers – infidels – in order to usher in an apocalyptic end-time battle in which Islam will finally and ultimately triumph.”

Many Muslims believe that this final battle will take place at or near the Syrian town of Dabiq, which is near Aleppo.  “[I]t is the location predicted by the prophet Muhammed for this confrontation,” said Rev. Graham.

The Bible also speaks of a “great conflict” in the final days that will be waged at Armageddon, said Rev. Graham but who did not state this was the same conflict forecast by the Islamic State.

Citing Revelation 16:14,  Rev. Graham said, “[I]t will be the Lord Jesus Christ who returns in glory to vanquish every foe: Satan, his demonic legions, and all who are allied with the prince of darkness and have refused to bow their knee to the Savior.”

His goal, the reverend continued, is to let the followers of Islam “know there is a God who loves them, cares for them and sent His Son to die for them on the cross for the forgiveness of their sins.”

God helped the Apostle Paul to change his violent ways, said Rev. Graham. In a similar fashion, the “only cure for corrupt ideologies and false religions is a personal encounter with the living God, who ‘wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth’ (1 Timothy 2:4). Only God can transform a murderous terrorist into a servant who is willing to die for the sake of His Name.”

Franklin Graham, 62, is the son of world-renowned evangelical preacher Billy Graham. In addition to heading the BGEA, Rev. Franklin Graham is the president of the international Christian relief group Samaritan’s Purse, is married and has four children and 10 grandchildren.
