Referencing the book of Genesis (12:3) where God tells Abraham (Abram), the father of the Jewish nation, that He will bless those who bless him, and curse those who curse him, Pastor Rafael Cruz said the Obama administration has "cursed the Jewish people" and the nation of Israel "more than any other administration in history."
"It was so shameful how this president has treated [Israeli] Prime Minister Netanyahu," said Pastor Cruz, speaking to Congregation Beth Aliyah in Rome, Ga., at a Tea Party event on Apr. 13. "A few months ago, my son was invited to speak in Washington, D.C. by an organization calling themselves ‘Middle Eastern Christians.’"
"At this meeting he was talking about how we needed to stand unequivocally for the nation of Israel and for the Jewish people," said Rev. Cruz. "And he began to be booed, and the boos became so loud that my son said, ‘Look, if you do not stand with Israel, if you don’t stand with the Jews, I cannot stand with you.’ And he turned around and walked out."
Rev. Cruz continued, "The word of God tells us in Genesis 12:3 – God is speaking to Abraham, the father of Israel – ‘I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you.’"
"This current administration has cursed the Jewish people, has cursed the nation of Israel more than any other administration in history," said Pastor Cruz. "I believe the only reason judgment has not fallen on America is because of the faithful remnant that is standing in the gap. But it is about time that we stand for righteousness."

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) spoke before a gathering of Middle Eastern Christians back in September 2014, which reportedly included some Palestinian Christians who were critical of Israel. Some people in the crowd did boo the senator, and the moderator asked them to show "respect" and "please, respect for dialogue," and "please we're in America."
Senator Cruz said, "My heart weeps that the men and women here will not stand in solidarity with Jews and Christians alike who are persecuted by radicals. ... If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews, then I will not stand with you. Thank you and God bless you." Senator Cruz then left the stage.
Rafael Cruz is Ted Cruz's father. The senior Cruz fought against the Communists in Cuba, was arrested there and tortured. He fled the island in 1957 at age 18 and eventually settled in Texas. His Dallas-based church also operates evangelical Christian ministries in Mexico and Central America.
