Although pro-LGBT days and parades have occurred at several Disney theme parks in recent years, on June 1, 2019, Disney Paris will officially host for the first time a "Magical Pride" parade that caters to homosexuals. June is LGBT Pride Month.
As Disney states on its website, "Live your best life and shine with the joy of diversity at Magical Pride, a dazzling party lighting up Disneyland Paris on 1st June 2019. Book now! Dress like a dream, feel fabulous and experience Walt Disney Studios Park like never before -- loud, proud and alive with all the colours of the rainbow."
In a "sneak peek" at the Magical Pride parade, Disney says the "unforgettable experience" will include "A brand new parade illuminating the streets of Walt Disney Studios Park with a vibrant Pride atmosphere. Disney Characters out and about, excited to share a special moment with you. The rare chance to ride our thrilling attractions late into the night, in Walt Disney Studios Park. A stunning dance party featuring some artists dropping some banging beats."
"The park’s decision to finally host an official LGBTQ Pride event comes 28 years after the first Disney Gay Days in 1991, during which 3,000 gay and lesbian visitors from central Florida attended the Disney World theme park," reported the website Queerty. "The first unofficial Magical Pride event reportedly occurred in Disneyland Paris in 2014."
Disney, which was once a pro-family company, has been introducing more homosexual content into its movies and programs. This has occurred in its "Andy Mack" program, "Good Luck Charlie," the movies Jungle Cruise, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast and Zootopia.
In addition, Disney sells LGBT merchandise at its theme parks, including gay-rainbow-colored Mickey Mouse ears and rainbow-themed food.
