Actor and singer Robert Davi.

Long-time actor and professional singer Robert Davi denounced New York's new law that allows abortion up to the day of birth, deriding it as "savage" and similar to King Herod killing the first born. He added that he was "astounded" that people think it is okay to "rip a baby from the womb at 9 months," and also called on Americans to start "a national uproar" on this issue "right now."

Davi further asked if there are any morals left in the United States and wondered what is "happening to our civilization?"

Robert Davi, who has starred in such films as Die Hard, Predator 2, Licence to Kill, and television's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, made his remarks in a Jan. 25 video post on Twitter.

Commenting on the Reproductive Health Act signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), Davi said, “Dear brothers and sisters, I don’t even know how to begin this. But I cannot tell you how disturbed I am to hear that in New York state they passed a bill whereby you can abort babies up to 9 months."

“I’m astounded," said Davi. "I don’t understand what’s happening to this country. I don’t understand what’s happening. Andrew Cuomo comes from Italian-American roots. How he could let this happen and celebrate and cheer for it, and then say, ‘no pro-lifers are allowed in New York.’"

Davi, whose debut album hit No. 6 on Billboard's jazz chart, continued, “I don’t understand it. A woman’s right to privacy, to choice. Do you women out there really want this? None of you are outraged. The country’s not outraged."

"You really think you can rip a baby from the womb at 9 months and it’s okay?" he asked.  "When there’s so many people that want adoptions?  Do you not think this is savage?"

“King Herod and the pharaohs killed the first born, remember that?" said Davi, who has five children.  "This is a very dangerous slope were sliding into. I cannot tell you – I am grieving for these children. I am grieving for the women."

"It’s astounding to me that there’s not an uproar, a national uproar," he said.  "We need to have a national uproar on this right now. This cannot be continued."

“I wonder if [Congresswoman] Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is okay with this," said Davi. "A woman – would you abort your baby at 9 months? Do you understand the ramifications of this?"

"What’s happening to our civilization?he asked.  "Are there no more morals? Is there no respect for human life? No sense of law and order?"

"It’s a sad, sad time," he remarked.  "Join me in the rosaries, join me in prayer.”
