On his nationally syndicated radio talk show Tuesday, host Mark Levin explained why the Texas church shooting “is being covered differently by the media than Las Vegas,” saying, it’s because the hero in Texas is “everything the liberals hate about Americans, about America.”

“He’s everything the liberals hate about Americans and America,” said Mark Levin. “[He’s] the plumber, white Christian, male, NRA member, former NRA instructor, owning an AR-15 – he’s not wearing shoes when he runs outside his very modest house – and he stops the killer.”

Levin’s comments came after a deranged gunman killed 26 people and injured 20 others in a mass shooting at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas on Sunday. Many on the left turned to politicize the massacre, calling for more gun control. Former president Barack Obama tweeted, “May God also grant all of us the wisdom to ask what concrete steps we can take to reduce the violence and weaponry in our midst.”

Below is a transcript of Levin’s remarks from his show Tuesday:

“This isn’t an issue about gun control. If it were an issue about gun control, the hero who stepped up and shot him [the mass murderer] wouldn’t have been able to step up and shoot him. This is one of the reasons this story, so-called, is being covered differently by the media than Las Vegas. Because the hero in this case is a former NRA instructor. Hillary Clinton would call him a deplorable. The lib media would call him a yokel.

“He loads up his AR-15, he runs from his house – an extremely modest house – he’s barefooted, runs across the street and confronts the killer.

“He’s everything the liberals hate about Americans and America: the plumber, white Christian, male, NRA member, former NRA instructor, owning an AR-15 – he’s not wearing shoes when he runs outside his very modest house – and he stops the killer.

“It wasn’t a politician who stopped the killer. It wasn’t a politician from Washington, D.C., wasn’t a politician form a blue state, wasn’t a member of the media. It was an American, a hero, who did what he had to do.

“And so this story’s covered differently, isn’t it?

“And right out of the box, Barack Obama and the other leftists, all the mediocres out there talking about gun control when they didn’t even know what took place, that there was already a law in place to stop this man, that the federal government screwed up.”
