Actor Mark Wahlberg released a video supporting the National Conference of Diocesan Vocation Directors.
Wahlberg welcomed the conference in Boston, Mass. which started last week, with a video the Diocese of Providence Vocations Office posted on Facebook.
“I want you to know of my support for your work to foster vocations to the priesthood, because I want my children and future generations to have good priests in their lives. Just like I had,” Wahlberg says.
“I’m blessed to have had many wonderful priests in my life. Growing up in Dorchester, I got myself into trouble every now and then. But I always had a priest to stick by me.”
Wahlberg mentions all the roles priests have played in his life and gives his support for the vocation efforts.
“Every time I go to a mass it is through a priest’s hands that I receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ.”
“We, the Catholic faithful are counting on you to bring us good and holy priests, enjoy my hometown this week and know that I will pray for you and your success,” Wahlberg says.
