During his nationally syndicated radio talk show “The Mark Levin Show” on Thursday night, host Mark Levin declared, “I will never, ever support amnesty – ever.”

“I will never, ever support amnesty – ever,” Mark Levin said. “And I will never, ever give in to these hardcore leftists from sanctuary cities and sanctuary states who want to turn this country inside-out, who don’t believe in national sovereignty and national security, and who are in this for their own power and their own party. I will never give in to this.”

Levin’s remarks came in the midst of negotiations between President Donald Trump and Congress over a possible end to the partial government shutdown, which is in its fifth week. Last week, President Trump suggested that he would consider granting amnesty to illegal immigrants as part of an immigration deal with congressional Democrats. The president has repeatedly asked for $5.7 billion in funding for the border wall, but Democrats have so far refused.

Below is a transcript of Levin’s remarks from his show on Thursday:

“I will never, ever support amnesty – ever. And I will never, ever give in to these hardcore leftists from sanctuary cities and sanctuary states who want to turn this country inside-out, who don’t believe in national sovereignty and national security, and who are in this for their own power and their own party. I will never give in to this.

“I thought the president’s proposal was modest. He wants $5.7 billion. In exchange, he’ll extend DACA for three years, and this, that, and the other – fine – fine. Now, I’m hearing a comprehensive plan would include amnesty. Well, count me out. I’m not going in on amnesty. You know why? I was there in 1986 at the Department of Justice, watching as a bill was negotiated with Republicans and Democrats. I had no input – but I’m watching it – and we were told exactly the same thing: ‘amnesty for 2.3 million people, and you’ll get your security, President Reagan.’ They get amnesty. We don’t get security.

“We saw it again in 2006. I was behind this microphone, with you. We saw it again in 2006. ‘Oh, we’re going to vote to authorize physical barriers and walls and double fencing and—’ Nobody doubted that they work. Nobody said it was racist; it was bipartisan, by a big number. They voted it, they’re running for re-election – back then, it seemed to matter – and then they only funded a little piece of it.

“Ever since, we’ve been trying to get them to fund it. They fund everything. We’ve got trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars in debt. We waste more money in this country – $125 billion a year. That’s what the GEO says the government wastes. Government workers get paid more than private sector workers. They get their, their salaries after the shutdown’s over, their retirement plans, their healthcare plans. Politicians continue to get paid. Nancy Pelosi’s still getting paid. I read the other day – $200,000 dollars charged to the Pentagon so she and her family and other members of Congress could fly to Italy and the Ukraine. She has bodyguards. She has limousine drivers. She’s treated like a queen. That’s why these people run for office. They’re power hungry.

“Meanwhile, you have Americans who are suffering as a result of an open border – murder, rape, kidnap, pedophilia.

“‘Like, you mean everybody does that?

“No, I don’t mean everybody does that. But I do mean, when foreigners come into this country illegally, and we don’t know who they are, and if somebody is harmed, that’s on our government. There’s only so much we can do about a citizen, but there’s a lot we can do about foreigners coming into this country. You come legally. You’re vetted. There’s a process, just like when you go to McDonald’s. Everybody can’t rush to the front of the line or jump over the counter and grab their hamburger. It doesn’t work that way, whether it’s McDonald’s, whether it’s an airport, whether it’s anywhere. You get the hell in line, and you do what you’re told – or get out.”
