On Sunday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) accepted a Twitter invitation by actress/activist Alyssa Milano to meet and “hear your bullsh*t 1st hand.”
Milano offered to meet with Cruz to discuss issues like gun violence while she’s visiting Washington, DC next week:
“I’d love to come in and meet with you on the gun issue and many other issues that include life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, @tedcruz and also, 1 Peter 4:8.
“I’ll be in DC next week. We can live-stream the meeting so the American people can hear your bullsh*t 1st hand.”
Despite her vulgar condemnation of Sen. Cruz’s views, Milano cites a Bible passage (1 Peter 4:8) calling for all people to treat each other lovingly:
“Above all, let your love for one another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins.”

In his Twitter reply, Sen. Cruz said he’d be willing to meet with Milano, as long as she’s willing to “have a civil & positive conversation” in the spirit of her Bible reference:
“I’d be happy to sit down & visit next week about uniting to stop gun violence & about the Constitution. If we can have a civil & positive conversation—in the spirit of 1 Peter 4:8 as you suggest—despite our political differences, that might help resolve the discord in our Nation.”
Milano followed up, saying she has contacted his scheduler:
“Great. I just called your office. They gave me your schedulers email address. I emailed to set up a meeting. Looking forward to it.”
