“It is no one's fault that this virus hit our shores or hit the world,” Vice President Kamala Harris said in a video interview with CBS published Monday – prompting Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to respond that there is, indeed, someone to blame.
“Is it the fault of the unvaccinated?” V.P. Harris was asked in an interview discussing the rapidly-spreading coronavirus variant Omicron and its devastating effects. The onset of the virus “is no one’s fault,” Harris answered:
"I don't think this is a moment to talk about fault. It is no one's fault that this virus hit our shores or hit the world. But it is more about individual power and responsibility and the decisions that everyone has the choice to make, no doubt."
Retweeting a video clip of Harris’ comment posted on Twitter, Sen. Ted Cruz responded to the vice president’s claim – by adding an exception:
“Except for the part where the Chinese Communist Party covered up the source, spread, and nature of COVID-19 as it became a global pandemic.”

The Biden Administration and liberal politicians have made a habit of blaming and denouncing unvaccinated Americans for spreading the coronavirus and its variants, while denying the culpability of China, the country where the virus originated.
