CNN’s lawsuit against the White House is nothing more than a “political stunt,” Republican Party Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Tuesday in a Twitter post.
The network has filed a lawsuit over the suspension of the White House press hard pass of one of its correspondents, Jim Acosta, who disrupted a press briefing and refused to yield the microphone at a press event last week.
The lawsuit isn’t just a stunt, it’s dishonest and factually incorrect, McDaniel explained:
“CNN’s lawsuit is a political stunt. They falsely claim this reporter’s hard pass was suspended because he asked ‘tough questions.’
“Plenty of reporters asked ‘tough questions.’ @realDonaldTrump took 68 of them from 35 reporters. Only one grandstanded & refused to give up the mic.”
Plus, CNN still has ample access to the White House, she added in her next post:
“Every one of his colleagues still has access to the WH, as does the reporter himself via a daily pass. #FactsFirst.”
