“I thought I knew everything” about the extent of the media’s hatred of President Donald Trump, but it is “far more than we thought,” Media Research Center (MRC) President Brent Bozell said Tuesday.
“It is extraordinary,” Bozell said in a Fox Business Channel interview with Host Stuart Varney. Bozell said he was surprised to discover the degree of media malice when he and MRC colleague Tim Graham began doing research for their new book, “Unmasked: Big Media’s War Against Trump,” which debuted Tuesday:
“I thought I knew everything. When my colleague Tim Graham and I sat down and we put together the research and we looked at the storylines, I must tell you: It is extraordinary. It is far more than we thought was happening. You put it together and you see the most militant, weaponized assault on a U.S. president in the history of the Republic.”
In particular, Bozell and Varney discussed a Washington Post editorial from Monday in anticipation of President Trump’s visit to Britain, which rebuked U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May for not disinviting Trump:
Varney: “He’s offering the Brits a way out of their Brexit mess. He will give the Brits a phenomenal trade deal, which is exactly what they want. And, they’re going to disinvite him because the left has contempt for him? That is ridiculous.”
Bozell: “And, for that, The Washington Post accuses him of interfering with elections. You’re so right. He’s trying to make Britain understand how favorable this will be, because of the possibilities with the United States, which would not otherwise exist.”
