Media Research Center (MRC) President Brent Bozell voiced enthusiastic support Wednesday for PragerU President Dennis Prager and his organization’s lawsuit against YouTube for restricting its educational videos.

In a post to his Twitter page, Bozell also expressed skepticism about a statement by YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki proclaiming the social media giant’s commitment to providing “an open platform”:

“Hmmm. The CEO of YouTube declares she believes ‘an open platform is more important than ever’ for YouTube to embrace. That's released on the very first day of PragerU's lawsuit against YouTube for censoring them from YouTube. Coincidence? Naaah. Go Dennis, go!”

PragerU is a popular conservative media outlet known for its academic, easy-to-understand videos explaining conservative ideas. But, as NewsBusters reports, examples of the over 200 videos “dangerous” and “derogatory” PragerU videos YouTube deems worthy of restriction include:

  • “The Ten Commandments: What You Should Know,”
  • “Does Free Speech Offend You?”
  • “Black Fathers Matter”
  • “Israel’s Legal Founding”
  • “What You Need To Know About Planned Parenthood”
  • “Cops Are the Good Guys”

“On Tuesday August 27, PragerU held a press conference after their hearing at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals during the saga of their lawsuit against Google/YouTube.”

“PragerU’s Chief Marketing Officer Craig Strazzeri was one of a handful of speakers who spoke. He pointed across the street to the library as an immediate example of a place where PragerU would be restricted. ‘If a student walks into that public library, goes on the computer, and searches for PragerU videos,’ he said ‘there are over 200 that they will not be able to see’ later adding for emphasis that five of those videos are on the Ten Commandments.’”
