Conservative radio host Mark Levin discussed his new strategy, “The Levin Defund Movement," aimed at pressuring state legislators to defund colleges and universities, on the Friday episode of "The Mark Levin Show."

Levin said “we need to turn their tactics on them and punish them and hurt them and crush them.”

Levin framed his strategy as the conservative equivalent of the Boycott Divestment Sanction movement (BDS), aimed at punishing companies and organizations that financially support Israel.

Levin said that one of the problems with the modern conservative movement is that there is not cutting edge thinking or novel thinking.

"I think we should defund many of these universities and colleges because they're killing this country," the radio host said. "I think we should defund any of our dollars that go towards tenured Marxist professors. Let's defund."

Below is a transcript of the segment.

Levin: There's a movement that's starting to pick up. And I pray it picks up more and we're gonna stay on it. I call it “The Levin Defund Movement.” It's our BDS movement; you know the BDS movement they use against the Jews in Israel "because they're apartheid. You know, the Jews have always been apartheid. You know, we got to get the Jews." Anyway, I'm saying more and more we need to turn their tactics on them and punish them and hurt them and crush them. Did I say crush? Damn right. So I've been calling this Levin's Defund Movement. And I want to thank Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA -- that young man is a true patriot. And so he's figured out, "alright, I got a little niche on this that I can try and handle. I mean, I'm not a legislature. Let's start focusing on donors to these universities. They have these massive endowments." Brilliant move, but we got to do a lot more, ladies and gentlemen. We also have to press our state representatives and state senators. We had this talk weeks ago, particularly Republican states, to defund the colleges and universities by a huge amount. And the federal government needs to do it too. I see white papers coming out of Washington, "hi, I have an idea." You see this one, Mr. Producer?

I saw it at Real Clear Poli -- "we need to begin defunding the colle --" good, good, good. Part of the problem is with the conservative movement today is there's not cutting edge thinking, there's not novel thinking. Some people, yes, but too many, no, they're parrots. They just regurgitate. It drives me nuts. When I find a really smart person or a really sharp consumer, I promote them. I promote what they say, what they write. I don't steal from them. I promote them. "Look at this guy. He’s smart." June 10, by my calculation, a little over five weeks ago, actually, I came in front of this microphone and I launched this effort, and I'm going to keep pressing the case. June 10, one of the many times I've brought it up. Here's what I said. Cut one, go. Well, you know, we can get into the defunding movement, ladies and gentlemen, and the BDS movement. I think we should defund many of these universities and colleges because they're killing this country. I think we should defund any of our dollars that go towards tenured Marxist professors. Let's defund.
