(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) sent a “Dear Colleague” letter to fellow House Democrats on Friday noting that they were entering “the season of Easter and Passover” and continuing “to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan”

“As we enter the season of Easter and Passover and continue to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan, we reflect on two reproductive weeks in the People’s House,” Pelosi said.

“Let us also celebrate the history made across the Capitol, as we celebrate the glorious confirmation of a groundbreaking Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson,” Pelosi said to her colleagues.

“Our Caucus has accomplished a great deal, but more must be done For The People,” she said.

“When we return from the District Work Period, House Democrats will continue our laser focus on lowering costs, increasing paychecks and creating jobs for America’s families,” she said. “We will further our commitment to preserving democracy her at home and around the world.”

Here is the full text of Pelosi’s “Dear Colleague” letter:

“Dear Democratic Colleague,

“As we enter the season of Easter and Passover and continue to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan, we reflect on two productive weeks in the People’s House.

“This week, the House took an important step toward sending to President Biden’s desk our bold, bipartisan, bicameral competitiveness legislation.  Our experienced and respected conferees will champion key priorities, including investments in producing chips, strengthening manufacturing and supply chains, diversifying our STEM workforce and promoting American global leadership.

“Our Democratic House Majority passed strong legislation to bring down costs and create opportunities for families:

  • The Affordable Insulin Now Act caps families’ copays for insulin at $35 per month – a step toward lowering prescription drug prices across the board.
  • The Relief for Restaurants and Other Hard Hit Small Businesses Act secures urgently needed relief for small businesses struggling in the wake of the omicron wave.
  • The MORE Act advances historic criminal justice reform and opens the doors of opportunity for so many harmed by the consequences of cannabis criminalization.

“The House has continued to demonstrate America’s unyielding commitment to the Ukrainian people and to countering Russian aggression:

  • The Suspending Energy Imports from Russia Act, which President Biden signed into law today, will further cripple Russia by cutting off the lifeblood of its economy.
  • The Suspending Normal Trade Relations with Russia and Belarus Act, which is also now law, will further isolate Russia and devastate its economy.
  • The Ukraine Invasion War Crimes Deterrence and Accountability Act will help hold Russia accountable for its cruel and despicable war crimes, which have shocked and horrified our nation and the world.

“At the same time, the Democratic House relentlessly carries on the fight to defend our democracy.  By holding in contempt two witnesses who have key information related to the deadly assault on the Capitol, the Congress and our Constitution on January 6th, we again make clear that no one is above the law.

“Let us also celebrate the history made across the Capitol, as we celebrate the glorious confirmation of a groundbreaking Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.  During her nomination process, Judge Jackson demonstrated the magnificence of her legal mind, her unyielding commitment to justice and her remarkable poise.

“Our Caucus has accomplished a great deal, but more must be done For The People.  When we return from the District Work Period, House Democrats will continue our laser focus on lowering costs, increasing paychecks and creating jobs for America’s families.  We will also further our commitment to preserving democracy here at home and around the world.

“As you may know, this week I received a positive test result for COVID-19.  I am overwhelmed with the wonderful well wishes and prayers, and thank everyone for their kindness.  I remain asymptomatic thanks to the robust protection from the vaccinations and boosters, which I encourage everyone to get.

“Thank you for your ongoing leadership as we Build a Better America.  I wish everyone well during this prayerful and hopeful season.

“NANCY"
