(CNS News) -- After former House Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) announced on Oct. 11 that she would “no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party,” many Republicans and conservatives praised her decision and applauded her for her “courage” and commitment to working for a better America.

House Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) tweeted, “@TulsiGabbard is leaving the Democratic Party just like millions and millions of common sense Americans! So glad to see so many people waking up to the scam that they’ve been perpetrating on voters for years.”

Ryan Fournier, former leader of Students for Trump stated, “Democrats got Bill Kristol and Liz Cheney. We got Tulsi Gabbard. I’ll take that trade.”

Mayra Flores, a Republican candidate in Texas tweeted, “I applaud you for having the courage to #walkaway @TulsiGabbard. We welcome you with open arms and I look forward to working with you for the betterment of this great country.”

Rev. Franklin Graham said, “@TulsiGabbard announced she’s leaving the Democratic Party. She’s a good friend who loves and serves her country. I’m praying for her, that God will direct her steps. I hope her decision will make people think about what has happened to the Democratic Party.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) tweeted, “Bad news for the Democrats, @TulsiGabbard isn’t the only one leaving the Democrat party. Skyrocketing inflation, terrifying crime, deadly borders, unaffordable gas and energy, and an unwanted war with Russia are all serious issues affecting every single American and caused by Democrats.”

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), according to Fox News, said the "weird" politics of the Democratic Party are prompting a "huge drift" in favor of Republicans ahead of November.”

Explaining her decision to leave the Democrat Party, Tulsi Gabbard said, “I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoke anti-white racism, actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms, are…

“… hostile to people of faith & spirituality, demonize the police & protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans, believe in open borders, weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents, and above all, dragging us ever closer to nuclear war.”
