(CNSNews.com) - Asked whether the federal government spends too much, Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla) responded “Absolutely,” adding that “We shouldn’t be running deficits.”
On Tuesday, CNSNews.com asked the Sen. Scott the following question:
“The federal government spent $4.1 trillion in fiscal 2018 and ran a deficit of $779 billion. Does the government spend too much money?”
“Absolutely,” Scott replied, suggesting the nation follow the example he set while serving as governor of Florida:
“We shouldn’t be running deficits and when I was governor of Florida, I had to balance the budget and I started paying down debt and I cut taxes. I think we have to figure out how to do the same thing up here.”
