(CNSNews.com) - It's been more than 260 days since Hillary Clinton gave a press conference, CNN's Anderson Cooper noted Wednesday on his prime-time show. "Will you give a press conference?" he asked Clinton, who joined him by phone.
"Well, Anderson, I'm talking to you right now," Clinton replied. "And I've given, I think, way in excess of 300 interviews this year. So I'm going to continue talking with the press and answering questions in many different venues."

Why not give a press conference, though, with a lot of different reporters?" Cooper asked.

"Well, you know, I've got a lot that I have been sharing with the press, talking to the press, as I'm doing with you right now. So stay tuned, there will be a lot of different opportunities for me to talk to the press as well as continuing to talk to the American public."

Cooper said he appreciated the opportunity to speak with her by phone, but he added that many other reporters would like to have the same opportunity.

Trump has criticized Clinton for dodging the press.

Speaking in Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday, he told his supporters, "I've been watching so carefully over the past month. Hillary Clinton doesn't do speeches, she doesn't do press conferences. It's been almost 300 days. She doesn't do rallies of any consequence. She doesn't do this kind of stuff."
