(CNSNews.com) – President Donald Trump went beyond his routine complaints about “fake news” on Thursday, insulting two cable hosts by name – “low I.Q. Crazy Mika” and “Psycho Joe.”
“I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came.....to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”
Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, the hosts of “Morning Joe,” are engaged to be married. She is a liberal Democrat who has been particularly hard on Trump, saying outright, repeatedly, that he is a liar, incompetent, and probably mentally unstable.
Joe Scarborough also holds liberal views, although he calls himself a conservative. He has joined in the Trump bashing, saying on Thursday that Trump “doesn’t understand” health care policy.
At the beginning of Thursday’s show, Brzezinski – speaking about health care -- said Republicans would find it easier to “work with Democrats than their own president who undermines them, slams them and says bad things about them, just for fun, to bully them, throw them under the bus, make up new plans, have Rose Garden ceremonies, humiliate them. I mean, could it be worse? Why don't you work with Democrats. No, seriously. You're working with someone who literally can't function.”
Later, still criticizing the Republican health care plan, Brzezinski said: “And this is the president who was going to change Washington.”
“What a populist,” Scarborough chimed in. “Oh, way to stand up to Goldman Sachs, Mr. President, we’re really proud of you, buddy.”
“Why don’t you get another Time magazine cover?” Brzezinski mocked.
She was referring a recent report that Time magazine has asked Trump to remove from the walls of Mar-a-Lago a framed, fake Time cover featuring himself, hands folded into his jacket sleeves.
“Listen nothing make a man feel better than making a fake cover of a magazine about himself, lying every day, and destroying the country. It’s a good feeling,” Brzezinski said.
Brzezinski also riffed on Trump’s arms-crossed, hands-in-jacket-sleeves pose: “Well, he’s covering his hands here because they’re TEENSY,” she laughed.
Minutes after Trump’s insulting tweets, Brzezinski tweeted a photo of a child eating cereal, captioned, “Made For Little Hands.”
Mark Kornblau, the senior vice president/communications for the NBCUniversal News Group, also tweeted: "Never imagined a day when I would think to myself, 'it is beneath my dignity to respond to the President of the United States.'"
