( - At a rally in Iowa Monday night, President Donald Trump drew applause when he told the crowd that Justice Brett Kavanaugh, just hours earlier, had taken his seat alongside Justice Neil Gorsuch on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Trump thanked Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, "a very tough cookie," and other Republican senators "for refusing to back down in the face of the Democrats' shameful campaign of political and personal destruction."

From the very first minute Brett Kavanaugh was nominated, radical Democrats were on a mission to resist, obstruct, delay, demolish and destroy. They want to destroy that man. Of course, they want to destroy me, too, but that's okay.

Me, we understand. Him? How can you do it? They want to destroy everything. That's all they're good at -- resisting. Their whole campaign is resist. Ours is to create.

What the Democrats did to Brett and his beautiful family is a national embarrassment, a national disgrace. You see what's happening and you see where they're coming from. You see, including the phony protesters that got paid.

Trump said Election Day is a chance for Americans to render their verdict on the Democrats -- he dubbed them the "Dims" -- and he noted that early voting has now opened in Iowa.

"On November 6, you have the chance to stop the radical Democrats by electing a Republican House and Republican Senate. We need the votes, Trump said. "Early voting -- go out now and vote. Leave here now, immediately, is it still open? Yes. Get the hell outta here," Trump joked.

Turning to the people seated behind him, Trump noted that many of them were wearing green hats saying "make farmers great again." He then announced that "we're going with E-15 year-round, okay?"

Ethanol 15 is a corn-based gasoline blend.

"I made that promise to you during the campaign... Promises made, promises kept."
