(CNSNews.com) – The Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the largest abortion provider in America, has posted on its website a statement in support of President Barack Obama’s plan to protect millions of illegal aliens from deportation, stating that “everyone in this country should have access to health care, regardless of income, geography, or citizenship status.”

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards issued a statement on Nov. 21, one day after Obama announced his plan to take executive action on immigration reform.

“We commend President Obama for extending much needed and long overdue relief to millions of women and families currently living in fear of deportation due to our nation’s broken immigration system,” said Richards. “This is a bold step forward that will help strengthen communities, our country and create a path to the American dream.”

Richards said she calls on Congress to pass immigration legislation and that Obama’s proposed action was something families have “hoped and prayed” for.

“At Planned Parenthood we see the difference that access to affordable health care makes for women and families every day and we’re proud to stand alongside our partners who have fought so hard for this victory,” Richards said. “This is no doubt a joyous day for families across the country who have hoped and prayed for relief, as well as those visionary leaders and activists who have dedicated their lives to achieving what we are seeing today.”

“We strongly believe that everyone in this country should have access to health care, regardless of income, geography, or citizenship status. It’s good policy, and it’s the right thing to do,” she said. “Planned Parenthood patients count on us for lifesaving health care and to be their fierce champion when it matters most, that’s why we’re fully in support of comprehensive immigration reform.”

Following the Planned Parenthood statement, “background” information is provided, including statements that chide U.S. policy prohibiting illegal aliens from getting federal benefits.

“The lack of insurance can be attributed, in part, to restrictive public policies that prohibit immigrants from receiving federal health benefits,” the background information states. “Federal law has strict rules regarding Medicaid eligibility for non-citizens.”

“Under federal law, undocumented immigrants may not receive Medicaid coverage or federal financial assistance to purchase coverage in the Marketplace.”

“In fact, undocumented immigrants cannot purchase coverage from the Marketplace at all -- even with their own dollars and at full cost,” the background information states.

According to its 2012-2013 annual report, the health care services provided by Planned Parenthood at its affiliated clinics across the country included 327,166 abortions.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the United States. The latest data form the CDC show that 78% of the babies killed by abortion in New York City were black and Hispanic children; nationwide, the percentage of abortions of black and Hispanic babies is 60%, according to the CDC.
