( – Conservatives say the Supreme Court made the right move in temporarily halting a U.S. District judge’s order that would have required a high school in Gloucester County, Va., to allow a biological female who identifies as a male to use the boy’s bathroom.

“We are certainly pleased that SCOTUS showed some restraint by delaying this matter until the high court can hear the case,” Ed Vitagliano, executive vice president of the American Family Association told “However, the end result of the matter will no doubt disappoint those who believe humanity is a binary race – male and female.

“Because of the current ideological make-up of the Supreme Court justices, a decision on this issue is likely to yield either a 5-3 ruling in favor of gender anarchy or a 4-4 tie, leaving the lower court travesty in place,” Vitagliano said.

"We are grateful that the Supreme Court put a hold on a disturbing ruling that treads on parental rights and the responsibility of local school districts to provide a safe learning environment for children,” Peter Sprigg, senior fellow for policy studies at the Family Research Council, said in a statement.

"Parents should continue to speak up about their privacy and safety concerns,” Sprigg said. “If the Obama edict is allowed to stand, there's no limit to what President Obama's administration, or future presidents, will be emboldened to do.”

"This transgender issue is very much alive and will catch parents and students across the nation by surprise in just a few weeks when they go back to public school, as many schools have adopted policies that will require male-born students to have access to girls' bathrooms and locker rooms,” Sam Rohrer, president of the American Pastors Network, told
