(CNSNews.com) - When asked Thursday if White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will tell her kids that it's okay for President Donald Trump to tweet about MSNBC host Mika Brzeznski's appearance, White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said as a person of faith, she believes the only "perfect role model" is God.
"You’ve been talking about the idea that the president is a fighter. I just want to put it in -- because you talk about being personally affected by all of this as well, and that nothing is wrong with the president fighting fire with fire, is the argument that you’re making. So I would ask this to you sort of on a personal level. You have stood here and talked about your family from this podium. Are you going to tell your kids this behavior is okay?" NBC Chief White House Correspondent Hallie Jackson asked.
"Look, I’ve been asked before when it comes to role models -- as a person of faith, I think we all have one perfect role model, and when I’m asked that question I point to God, I point to my faith, and that’s where I would tell my kids to look," Sanders said.
"None of us are perfect, and certainly there’s only one that is, and that’s where I would -- point that direction," Sanders added.
Sanders was peppered with questions Thursday regarding the president's tweet about Brzeznski and "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough.
As CNSNews.com reported, the president tweeted: “I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came.....to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”
