(CNSNews.com) – The four congresswomen who make up the so-called “Squad” are “very bad for our country” and the Democrat Party, President Donald Trump said Monday during a White House visit with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Trump was asked why he was escalating his feud with Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.).

“I think they’re very bad for our country. I really think they must hate our country. I think the four congressmen we’re talking about—the congresswomen – what they’ve said about Israel, what they’ve said about our country, when they talk about disgusting people, when they talk the way they talk, when the one mentioned that brown people should speak for brown people, Muslim people should speak for Muslim people, and you hear all this, it’s not what our country’s all about,” he said.

“No, I think they’re very bad for our country. I think they’re very bad for the Democrat Party. I think you see that, and they’re pulling the Democrats way left. Nobody knows how to handle them. I feel they’re easy to handle. To me they’re easy to handle, because they’re just out there. They’re very bad for our country, absolutely,” the president said.

Trump denied that there was “racial tension” caused by his feud with the congresswomen, and he pointed to the economic strides he has made in the African-American community as an example.

“No, no, no racial tension. There’s no racial tension. Look, I had my best numbers recently, and it’s because of the economy and what I’ve done for the African-American,” the president said.

“When you look, the African-Americans are doing better than they’ve ever done in our country. We’re creating numbers. Look at the poverty numbers. Look at so many different—look at the unemployment numbers, the best they’ve ever had. Now we have fantastic relationships with the African-American community. I think you’ll see that. Certainly, you’re going to see that in 2020,” Trump said.

Trump tweeted Monday morning that the “Squad” is a “Racist group of troublemakers who are young, inexperienced, and not very smart.”

“The ‘Squad’ is a very Racist group of troublemakers who are young, inexperienced, and not very smart. They are pulling the once great Democrat Party far left, and were against humanitarian aid at the Border...And are now against ICE and Homeland Security. So bad for our Country!” he tweeted.
