(CNSNews.com) – When it comes to the Constitution and immigration, Senator Jon Tester (D-Mont.) said President Donald Trump has a constitutional duty to enforce immigration laws but that, “he can’t make up the immigration laws.”
At the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday, CNSNews.com asked Sen. Tester, “Article 2, Section 3 of the Constitution says that the president ‘shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed.’ Do you believe that the president has a constitutional duty to enforce the immigration laws?”
Tester replied, “He does, but he can’t make up the immigration laws.”
A 2018 study conducted by researchers at Yale University and MIT estimated the illegal immigrant population in the United States to be 22.1 million.
