(CNSNews.com) – “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno said Thursday that Congress apparently took the “hypocritic oath” by voting for Obamacare and then being exempted from it.

“Before they went on vacation, Congress voted to exempt themselves from Obamacare. They gave themselves a special exemption, because they thought it was too expensive. So the people who voted for Obamacare for us voted to exempt themselves from Obamacare. See now, doctors take the Hippocratic oath. Congress apparently takes the hypocritic oath,” Leno said.

On Wednesday, the Office of Personnel Management announced that members of Congress and congressional staff would continue to receive an employer contribution toward their health insurance premiums.

“When Congress passed the health reform law known as Obamacare in 2010, an amendment required that lawmakers and their staff members purchase health insurance through the online exchanges that the law created. They would lose generous coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program,” an Aug. 7 Reuters article said.
