(CNSNews.com) – A protester arrested outside the Tucson office of Sen. Jeff Flake’s (R-Ariz.) Tucson office after threatening a Congressional staffer on Thursday reportedly warned that liberals were going to “solve the Republican problem” by getting “better aim.”

“You know how liberals are going to solve the Republican problem?” the protester was quoted as saying. “They are going to get better aim. That last guy tried, he needed better aim. We will get better aim.”

The latter reference was likely to the shooting last month of House majority whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.).

Mark Pritchard, 59, was arrested and charged by the Pima County Sheriff's office with threats and intimidation.

Jason Samuels,. Flake’s communications director, confirmed to CNSNews.com that the protester threatened one of the senator’s staffers.

Protestors had gathered outside Flake’s Arizona office to protest the new health care bill drafted by Republicans in the Senate. According to ABC15 five people were arrested for trespassing after refusing to leave the senator’s private office.

Another man, who tried to force his way into the office, was also arrested, and charged with third degree criminal trespassing.

Scalise was critically injured while practicing in Alexandria, Va. with other Republicans for the annual congressional baseball game. He remains in hospital, where he underwent surgery late last week due to new concerns of infection from the gunshot wound to the hip.

Flake was one of the Republicans who had been practicing when James Hodgkinson, who had expressed a great deal of animosity towards the GOP online, opened fire.
