(CNSNews.com) -- At a rally outside the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday in opposition to President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, a Republican, said the president does not trust Americans to “change our own light bulb of our own choosing,” but he does trust a “death cult” in Iran.
In her remarks, Palin said, “This treaty will not bring peace. You don't reward terrorism -- you kill it. You don't lift sanctions, you crack down on their assets. You cut off their oil and drill baby drill for our own.”
“We don't retreat, we reload against any foe daring to test us, and that is what Iran just did -- they tested us,” Palin said.
“So Congress, you got to kill the deal,” she continued. “The president is playing you Congress, again. He so disrespects you Congress and our Constitution that he won't even bring the treaty to you.”
“You can't this time Congress -- got to pass it to see what's in it -- not this time,” she said.
“The president doesn't trust you and he doesn't trust us,” said Palin. “He doesn't trust Americans to even change our own light bulb of our own choosing. And yet he'll trust a death cult.”
The “End the Iran Deal” organized by the Tea Party Patriots brought together members of Congress, presidential candidates and conservative leaders who are speaking out against the Iran nuclear deal and urging Congress to stop it.
