(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D.-N.Y.) said at a townhall televised by MSNBC on Monday evening that America is at its best when “we care about the least among us.”

“So, I will protect this country,” Gillibrand said. “I will make sure that we are safe. But I will make sure that we remember we are at our best when we love one another. When we treat others the way that we want to be treated. When we believe in the Golden Rule and we care about the least among us.”
