(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Kamala Harris (D.-Calif.) sent out a Tweet on Friday afternoon saying that President Donald Trump “is poisoning our planet.”

“Trump is poisoning our planet,” Harris said.

“The climate crisis is a direct threat to our nation, and the president is putting our future in the hands of climate change deniers, Big Oil and corporations,” she said.

On Thursday, Harris put out two sequential Tweets criticizing President Trump for his handling of the “climate crisis” and advising people in the path of Hurricane Dorian on how they should deal with it.

“At a time when we need urgent action to address the climate crisis, Trump is taking us backwards,” Harris said. “Unlike this president, I’m on the side of protecting our planet for future generations—and will continue to do so in the White House.”

That Tweet linked to a New York Times story about the administration preparing to “announce that it will sharply curtail regulations on methane emissions.”

“If you are in the anticipated path of Hurricane Dorian,” Harris said in her next Tweet, “now is the time to prepare. Officials are recommending having at least 7 days of supplies ready, including water, food, and medicine.”

This Tweet linked to an ABC News story with the “latest” on Hurricane Dorian.
