( - Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D.-N.Y.) endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders (D.-Vt.) for president on Saturday and then sent out a tweet with a video explaining her endorsement and stating her view that President Donald Trump must be defeated.

“In the end, we must come together to defeat Donald Trump,” Ocasio-Cortez said in her tweet.

“We should do so knowing he is a symptom of a larger problem—and our greatest hope is a multiracial, working class movement in the United States of America,” she said.

Her tweet included a three-minute video she had done for the Sanders campaign.

“This is not just about running for president,” she said in the video. “This is about creating a mass movement of working class people,” she said in the video.”

“This is not about saying everyone should have health care with asterisks, or that your student loan debt should be forgiven under certain conditions,” she said.

“This,” she said, “is about unconditional, universal, guaranteed, advanced standard of living in the United States of America. No ifs, no ands, no buts. No matter who you are, where you come from, what you are born into.”
