WEMBLEY, England (AP) — Manchester United and Barcelona are tied 1-1 at halftime of the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium.

Wayne Rooney scored for United in the 34th minute to offset a goal by Barcelona's Pedro Rodriguez in the 27th. Rooney lifted the ball into the net over defender Dani Alves after an exchange with Ryan Giggs.

In a first half Saturday dominated by Barcelona, the Spanish champions struck first. Barca captain Xavi Hernandez flicked the ball into the path of Pedro, who sidefooted it past Edwin van der Sar. The 40-year-old United goalkeeper is making his last appearance before retiring.
