'Duck Dynasty' Goes Chia as Cultural Phenomenons Collide

By Matt Vespa | December 9, 2013 | 10:42am EST

I guess it had to happen, just in time for Christmas: "Duck Dynasty" Chia Pets. If you have any rabid fans of the hit cable television show featuring the Robertson family, now you can give them their very own beard-growing Chias of Willie and Uncle Si.

No, I'm not joking. Here's the commercial. Regardless of what you think of the so-tacky-its-cute Chia that resurfaces every Christmas, you've got to love it when two cultural phenomenons come together so nicely and applaud the company's persistent ingenuity.

And, they've apparently sold at least one of these things. Check out this couple's homemade of YouTube video of their efforts to prepare their "Uncle Si" Chia.

They say they'll post another update video when Si's beard fills in, so stay tuned.
