(CNSNews.com) – Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden denied he ever said he would oppose fracking and challenged President Donald Trump at the final presidential debate on Thursday in Nashville, Tenn., to show the videotape of him saying it.

Trump obliged.

At the debate, hosted by NBC and moderated by NBC White House Correspondent Kristen Welker, Trump challenged Biden on fracking.

Biden said he never said he opposed fracking, but Trump said the former vice president said it on tape.

“Show the tape. Put it on your website,” Biden said.

Trump said he would, and Biden accused Trump of flat out “lying.”

When Welker asked Biden if he would ban fracking, Biden said, “I do rule out banning fracking, because the answer, we need other industries to transition to get to ultimately a complete zero emissions by 2025. What I will do with fracking over time is make sure that we can capture the emissions from the fracking, capture the emissions from gas. We can do that and we can do that by investing money. It’s a transition to that.”

Trump interjected, saying, “He was against fracking. He said it. I will show that to you tomorrow. ‘I am against fracking’ - until he got the nomination, went to Pennsylvania. Then he said-- but you know what Pennsylvania? He'll be against it very soon, because his party is against it.”

Biden clarified, “Fracking on federal land, I said. I said no fracking and/or oil on federal land.”

Trump tweeted a video montage of Biden saying he would eliminate fracking.

“Here you go @joebiden,” Trump tweeted.

The video includes a clip from a CNN Democratic presidential debate.

When asked by the moderator whether there would be “any place for fossil fuels, including coal and fracking in a Biden administration,” the former vice president said, “No, we would work it out. We would make sure it’s eliminated and no more subsidies for either one of those.”

Below is a transcript of the exchange:

TRUMP: So it’s all a pipe dream, but you know what we’ll do? We're gonna have the greatest economy in the world but If you want to kill the economy, get rid of your oil industry, and what about fracking?

BIDEN:I never said I oppose fracking.

TRUMP: You said it on tape.

BIDEN: Show the tape. Put it on your website.

TRUMP: I’ll put it on.

BIDEN: Put it on the website. The fact of the matter is he’s flat lying.

WELKER: Would you rule out banning fracking?

BIDEN: I do rule out banning fracking, because the answer, we need other industries to transition to get to ultimately a complete zero emissions by 2025. What I will do with fracking over time is make sure that we can capture the emissions from the fracking, capture the emissions from gas. We can do that and we can do that by investing money. It’s a transition to that.

WELKER: I have one more question.

TRUMP: Excuse me. He was against fracking. He said it. I will show that to you tomorrow. ‘I am against fracking’ - until he got the nomination, went to Pennsylvania. Then he said-- but you know what Pennsylvania, he'll be against it very soon, because his party is against it.

BIDEN: Fracking on federal land, I said. I said no fracking and/or oil on federal land.
