It was an honor to attend yesterday’s White House Signing Ceremony for the Abraham Accords, and on behalf of the Conference of Jewish Affairs, I congratulate President Donald Trump and his team for brokering an historic peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

This is yet another outstanding achievement by President Trump regarding Israel and the Middle East and demonstrates our president's unique abilities to bring to life that which has eluded other leaders. This is truly a manifestation of "The Art of the Deal."

President Trump understood that the leadership of the Palestinian Arabs was the obstacle to a greater Mideast peace between Israel and her Arab/Muslim neighbors. He decided to circumvent that obstacle by having Israel establish direct peace talks with her Arab neighbors. He realized that more important than resolving the so-called “Palestinian issue” was making peace a priority among nations in the region. The “Palestinian issue” is no longer at the forefront among requirements for a broad Middle East Peace.

Those who have been unable to think out-of-the-box and have been tied to seven decades of tunnel vision approaches to Middle East negotiations have exhibited sour grapes and cynicism in their unwillingness to congratulate the president for this unprecedented peace accomplishment. They evidently are unwilling to rise to the occasion and give credit where it is due.

In addition, many of the NGOs and Europeans are disappointed that they can no longer pressure Israel to give up Jerusalem as a means for achieving broad peace in the region. Many globalists and left-wingers will not be satisfied until a “peace process” forces Israel to return to what Abba Eban called the “Auschwitz borders,” meaning narrow borders where Israel is vulnerable to Arab attack. In addition, for them, peace process means the bringing into Israel of millions of Arab Muslims in order to destroy the Jewish character of the state and render it a multicultural hodgepodge under Arab hegemony.

It is obvious that the left-wing Palestinian party Fatah, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), and such groups still do not want peace with Israel, nor will they ever recognize Israel as a sovereign Jewish state. Besides, the spigot of money running from the European countries, the NGOs, and United Nations agency would stop flowing toward the Palestinian Arab leadership once a state was formed. Its leaders would be forced to relinquish the romance and excitement of terrorism and revolution and focus on water works, electric plants, road building, hospitals, and other infrastructure. Most of them consider this boring and below their blowing-things-up calling.

Israel and the region have been fortunate indeed to have President Trump’s vision lead the way during these last four years.  We believe that the benefits of this treaty will be enormous for all parties involved, while still maintaining Israel's future sovereignty over its biblical attachment with Judea and Samaria.

Every minute broadens the horizons of this extraordinary peace arrangement being brought to fruition by President Trump and his visionary administration.
