All friends of Israel and historic truth should be horrified by the recent betrayal of Israel by the Biden Administration insisting on creating an American consulate for Palestinian Arabs in the city of Jerusalem. Inasmuch as the United States already has its embassy in Jerusalem, the formation of a special American consulate indicates that the Biden Administration plans to make Jerusalem the capital of a future Palestinian Arab state.
It is unheard of for a foreign country to designate the capital of a particular nation as a future capital of another country. It is also the height of audacity to disrespectfully communicate to an existing country that an outside force plans to usurp its capital and hand it over to an aggressor. The Biden Administration has gone beyond any norm of respect and civility by insisting that the Palestinian Arabs have an official consulate in both East and West Jerusalem.
The Biden Administration’s insistence on this scheme displays a handwriting on the wall that it has already determined the outcome of negotiations before they have been negotiated, to wit, that there will be a Palestinian Arab state with Jerusalem as its capital and, God forbid, the expulsion of the Jewish State from the Old City of Jerusalem.
There is no question – be it historically, biblically, legally, and morally – that the Old City belongs to the Jewish People. The Muslims have Mecca, the Catholics have Rome, and the Jews have always had Jerusalem since the time of Solomon and David. This act of perfidy, this assault on historic truth, and this unethical and immoral policy must be challenged and fought by all friends of Israel and patriots who believe in the abiding integrity of America. In effect, Biden is overturning the Jerusalem Embassy Acts of 1995 and 2015.
We urge all Democrats who have a place in their heart for Israel’s future to stand out and challenge the Biden Administration. We especially call on Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who has great influence as Senate majority leader and is Jewish, to face his President and speak truth to power. We expect nothing less from Mr. Schumer, who has boasted of being Israel’s protector (“shomer”) in the halls of Congress.
Furthermore, and most importantly, we insist that all Jewish organizations who claim to be friends of Israel and raise substantial funds claiming to be supporters of Israel, call in their chips and demand that President Joe Biden and his administration fall back from this most anti-Israel assault and brazen contradiction of American ethical integrity.
Jerusalem belongs exclusively as the capital of the Jewish People. What God has put together let no man put asunder.
