NY grand jury indicts former President Trump
The left came “guns blazing” in opposition of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump’s nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court, but it has struggled to come up with a reason why.
Oh, they hate him. Sen. Cory Booker (D-New Jersey) said those who do not oppose Kavanaugh are “complicit in the evil.” The very day President Trump made his announcement, Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-New York) said he would, “oppose Judge Kavanaugh's nomination with everything I have.” Several others immediately followed suit.
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-California) said, “Kavanaugh represents a direct and fundamental threat to that promise of equality, and so I will oppose his nomination to the Supreme Court." Some senators did not even wait for the announcement to oppose whoever the nominee was. Here was Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pennsylvania) before the announcement, “I will oppose the nomination the President will make tonight because it represents a corrupt bargain with the far Right, big corporations, and Washington special interests.”
We saw this everywhere. The media-celebrated “Women’s March” sent out their press release opposing “XX.” No need to know who the nominee is; he or she would “further erode protections for almost every marginalized group in America.” Some rallied in front of the Supreme Court with pre-made signs for any nominee they thought possible. The official Twitter account of the Democratic Party reportedly put out a tweet (then deleted it) saying, “Let’s be clear: A vote for #KavanaughSCOTUS would be a vote to rip health care from American families …” only it featured the wrong judge in the picture.
They are outraged. They are mad. At whom? At whomever.
What is worse for them is that, once named, they realized that Judge Kavanaugh’s record simply doesn’t fit the narrative they had in mind. They have a “fake views” problem.
They are fighting a “boogie man” that doesn’t exist and making the most bizarre arguments. Most recently they’ve invested millions on this Planned Parenthood “Rise Up for Roe Tour,” where Chelsea Clinton appeared, trying to make the case that abortion is a money-maker for the U.S. Okay.
I’ve said before, the left should be worried about Roe. It is an unconstitutional mess of a decision that will go down in history alongside Dred Scott. But that is not on Judge Kavanaugh. He has followed Roe’s precedent as he was required to do as a lower court judge and has not speculated on cases that may come before the Court in the future.
That’s why, despite all the hysterics playing for the cameras, Kavanaugh’s opposition has been reduced to “we need more time.” “Time for what,” you ask? Well, time to review his long extensive record, of course.
They are wailing for more documents. As the Wall Street Journal editorial board notes, “Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation is fast becoming one of the most transparent in history. The Obama White House provided 173,000 documents on Ms. Kagan and the Trump White House produced 182,000 for the Gorsuch nomination. The White House has already turned over 195,000 on Judge Kavanaugh, with tens of thousands more to come.”
But that’s not enough when you are chasing a ghost. They need more documents to be reassured of their opposition, before they can vote to oppose the nominee they’ve pledge to oppose with everything they have from the beginning because he is evil.
It is no wonder their efforts have, are, and will continue to fail. The fake outrage against Kavanaugh is evident, and the American people can see right through it. He will be confirmed, and he will be an excellent justice.
