(CNSNews.com) -- Islamic State (IS)’s media office distributed a video from Ninawa province, Iraq on May 17 featuring fighters from the U.S., Canada, the U.K, Belgium and Russia calling on Muslims in the West to carry out attacks, according the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
The video titled “We Will Surely Guide Them to Our Ways” was posted on multiple IS-affiliated Telegram channels, Twitter accounts and an online jihadi forum called Shumoukh Al-Islam.
It displays prominent U.S. cities, landmarks and institutions, such as Times Square, Washington D.C., Las Vegas, Bank of American, PNC Bank and John Hopkins University in Baltimore as potential targets.
The American IS fighter, Abu Hamza Al-Amriki, said the U.S. is “waging war against Muslims.” He urged “the monotheists” living in the U.S. to show resolution to Allah by attacking non-Muslims.
"Are you incapable of stabbing a Kafir [infidel] with a knife, throwing him off a building, or running him over with a car?” Al-Amriki said. “Liberate yourself from hellfire by killing a kafir.”
Another fighter featured in the video, Abu Jihad from Russia, told Muslims living around "polytheists" to "turn their security into terror."
The video also features calls for attacks by non-Western suicide bombers. One of them, Abu Youssof Al-Masalawi, urged:
“I call on you by the name of Allah to have your swords dripping [with the] blood of the infidel before night time.” “Rest assured that any drop of blood spilled there would ease the pressure on us here."
Another would-be suicide bomber, Abu Omar, said killing “infidels” everywhere is a religious obligation.
The video ended by listing ways Muslims in the West can acquire vehicles, preferably “large double-wheeled load-bearing trucks,” to carry out attacks:
- Asking from a Kafir by Force or Deception
- “Borrowing” from a Kafir or Murtadd [those who turned their backs on Islam]
Ideal targets were also suggested:
- Large outdoor festivals, conventions, celebrations and parades,
- Pedestrian-Congested Streets (High/Main Streets),
- Outdoor Markets, and
- Outdoor Rallies
