(CNSNews.com) - In his new book—"The True Jesus: Uncovering the Divinity of Christ in the Gospels"—David Limbaugh illustrates how the Gospels demonstrate that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was fully man and fully God.
“I think that the lynch pin, the main factor, is this: These were people who were transformed from cowards, skeptics, deniers, into bold proclaimants of the faith,” Limbaugh said of the early followers of Christ.
Limbaugh noted that after the resurrection, those who told Christ’s story “subjected themselves to persecution and ultimately martyrdom, most of them, because they believed what they had witnessed was the truth.”
“Now, here’s the difference: You can die for another religion [than Christianity], or another philosophy, or another idea that you have,” Limbaugh said. “A lot of people have done that through history. So what’s the difference? The difference is these other people who have died did it based on a sincere conviction that they have, that they know may or may not be true. These Christian writers witnessed the events. They would not have subjected themselves to die in persecution for something they knew was a lie. It just wouldn’t have happened.”
