Commenting on President Donald J. Trump's speech at the United Nations on Tuesday, evangelical leader Franklin Graham said Trump's remarks "may have been one of the best speeches ever given" to the U.N. and they "made you proud to be an American." Graham also encouraged people to continue to pray that God will "guide and direct" the president to do what is best for the nation.

"Thank God we have a president who stands for truth and is not afraid to speak truth to the whole world," said Rev. Franklin Graham in a Sept. 19 post on Facebook.

"President Donald J. Trump's address today to the United Nations General Assembly may have been one of the best speeches ever given to that body," said Graham.

"It made you proud to be an American," he added.

"I hope you will join me in praying for this man, that God will guide and direct him," said the reverend.  "He reminded the world, 'If the righteous many do not confront the wicked few, then evil will triumph.'"

Franklin Graham, 65, is president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) and he also oversees the international Christian relief group Samaritan's Purse. Rev. Graham is married and has five children. He regularly preaches in the United States and abroad.
