Evangelical leader Franklin Graham praised singer/songwriter Kanye West for using his talent to "point thousands of people to Jesus Christ," especially young people, and urged Christians to pray for West, stressing that liberals will oppose him and the Devil will try to discourage and "destroy him."

Kanye West, 42, who is married and has four children, apparently has experienced a strong conversion to Christianity and Jesus Christ over the last few years. His wife, Kim Kardashian, an Armenian Christian, said that Kanye has "had an amazing evolution of being born again and being saved by Christ."

Kanye West recently released a Christian hip-hop album, Jesus Is King, which opened at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart.

On Nov. 12, Rev. Franklin Graham wrote on Facebook, "I’m thrilled to read about Kanye West using his testimony of what God has done in his life to point thousands of people to Jesus Christ."

"Kanye shares that God has called him to hold what he has named Sunday Service Experiences with music and the preaching of God’s Word," said Graham.  "This is reaching a whole new group of people."

"In this Fox News interview, a 17-yr-old said he had never been to a church service before, but he came to this, and now he is thinking about Christ," said the reverend. "That’s great."

Graham continued, "Kanye also has a new album called 'Jesus is King.' Kanye is doing what he believes, even if there are skeptics and even though it goes against the liberal beliefs of most in the entertainment industry."

"Pray for Kanye," said Rev. Graham. "[T]here will be many temptations and the devil will try to discourage, distract, and even destroy him."

"Pray that he will keep his eyes focused on Jesus, and that God would guide and protect him," said Graham.  "God bless you, Kanye -- we’re praying for you."
