Reverend Franklin Graham, son of world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham, said it is a widely reported fact that the "Muslim terrorist group Al-Shabaab" has threatened to attack shopping malls in the United States and Europe, but asked when will President Barack Obama "call them for what they are -- Islamic Terrorists?"

"The Muslim terrorist group Al-Shabaab, which killed 63 and injured over 175 people at a major Kenya shopping mall in 2013, is now calling for malls in the US and Europe to be attacked," said Rev. Graham in a Feb. 23 Facebook post.

"When will our president call them what they are—Islamic terrorists?" he asked. "Let’s pray for our police and security as they try to protect our lives."

Al-Shabaab is a Muslim terrorist group based in Somalia, Africa, that has pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda -- the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks -- and reportedly has an estimated 9,000 members.

Al-Shabaab ("The Youth") bases its ideology on the Quran and follows Sharia law (Islamic law).  The group was designated a terrorist organization by the United States in 2008.

Al-Shabaab has been responsible for numerous terrorist attacks in Somalia and surrounding countries, including the September 2013 bloody assault at the Westgate shopping center in Nairobi, Kenya, which ultimately killed 67 people.

The radical Islamic group posted a video online on Saturday, declaring its intention to attack shopping malls and specifically named the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., which has more than 520 stores and receives about 42 million visitors a year.

In discussing the Al-Shabaab threat against the Mall of America, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said on Sunday, Feb. 22 that there was no "credible or specific evidence" of a terrorist attack in the works but also said, "If anyone is planning to go to the Mall of America today, they've got to be particularly careful."

President Barack Obama has repeatedly claimed that terrorist groups that base their ideology on Islam are not really Islamic.

Back in September 2014, while commenting on the Islamic State -- the radical Muslim group responsible for beheading Egyptian Christians on video, murdering American James Foley, selling girls as sex slaves, and burning a Jordanian pilot alive -- Obama said the group "is not Islamic."

Reverend Franklin Graham, 62, is president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and he also oversees the Christian international relief group Samaritan's Purse. He frequently speaks about the danger posed by Islamic radicals.
